{"id":33905,"date":"2013-04-29T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2013-04-29T05:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ready-for-feedback3.com\/shape-history\/fmr\/fahamu\/"},"modified":"2025-07-01T07:21:25","modified_gmt":"2025-07-01T12:21:25","slug":"fahamu","status":"publish","type":"fmr_content","link":"https:\/\/www.fmreview.org\/ar\/fahamu\/","title":{"rendered":"Resources for those representing asylum claims on grounds of sexual orientation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Fahamu Refugee Programme\u2019s information portal for those providing legal aid to refugees is expanding its resources for those defending cases based on sexual orientation \u2013 lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex (LGBTI).<\/p>\n<p>To facilitate instant access to the information that lawyers need when preparing an asylum case for adjudication, the Fahamu Refugee Programme is aiming to provide Country of Origin information for all 192 UN member states. To date, 30 are available; the rest should be available by the end of 2013.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/tinyurl.com\/Fahamu-SOGI-country-list\">http:\/\/tinyurl.com\/Fahamu-SOGI-country-list<\/a><\/p>\n<p>For each country this resource will provide specific legislation and case law (where it can be found), plus a section on public attitudes and\/or the state\u2019s capacity to protect LGBTI persons.
